Youth Participation
There is a lot going on in the Battalion, and there is a lot you can get involved with, on a local, Battalion, and even a national level. Aged between 16 and 25? Want to meet new people and try new things? Interested? Then get involved in something.
Events and competitions
There are many Battalion events and competitions throughout the year, most of which would be impossible to run if not for the organisation and venus provided by individual companies. If you think you or your Company could organise one of these events, or another event, then get in touch with Alan Mottram. A number of organisers are stepping down next year, if you think you might want to take over from one of these, then get in touch and help to organise an event this year with a view to taking over next year.
Training
Training within the Manchester and District Battalion is co-ordinated by our Training Coordinator Dave Haughton, who is the Battalion Vice-president with responsibility for training. Each session, there is usually a Youth Leadership training, which is completed in two parts, and a Camp-craft and Camp and Holiday Leadership course. In addition each year there is a Grade Three Leadership course, for those who need to attend to complete their President's Badge. Various other courses are run as required, such as the Captain’s Course and First Aid Course. These needs are all decided by the Training Coordinator.
