Training within the Battalion is co-ordinated by our Training Coordinator Dave Haughton. Detailed records of course attendence, maintained by the Training Co-ordinator, mean that the Battalion always has an acurate picture of the qualifications held by its members.

Training courses are usually run by qualified Officers from the Battalion, and sometimes external instructors are used, such as school teachers or health and safety experts. Officers from other Battalions are often invited to attend our courses, and this has been well received by neighbouring Battalions.

Each session, there is usually a Youth Leadership training, which is completed in two parts, and a Camp-craft and Camp and Holiday Leadership course. In addition each year there is a Grade Three Leadership course, for those who need to attend to complete their President's Badge. Various other courses are run as required, such as the Captain’s Course and First Aid Course.
